Art + Water is a new kind of cultural destination for San Francisco- a free artist residency, exhibition hall, and public programming space rooted in equity, rigor, and access.

We address the crisis of affordable artist workspace in San Francisco by providing studio residencies where artists can develop their practice and share their work. Our programming includes rigorous visual arts instruction, rotating exhibitions, and opportunities for the public to engage with contemporary artists and their processes- demystifying art-making while celebrating the vital role artists play in our city.

Our vision is simple: create an inclusive space where artists thrive, the public connects deeply with contemporary art, and San Francisco’s cultural landscape grows stronger.
